Well, I would say that is not the same for everyone… it depends. To learn guitar online , you have to work hard at first, but more importantly, you need to have fun with your guitar. The fact is that to play guitar is a never ending process, You will find everywere something different that you can learn, as a matter of fact, learning guitar is not a destination, it’s a journey.

Also, to learn with " guitar learning software ", in my experience may take up to four weeks if you practice every day. Once you have learned, the next step is to begin playing easy songs that do not require much effort from your side.

Let’s create a small time chart to give you an idea of how your improvement with the guitar will be after you choose to take this road.
1 – 3 Months: in this short period of time you will be able to play easy songs such as Wonderwall by Oasis. Songs like the one mentioned do not require much knowledge; you only need to know the basic chords to play it. You are off to a good start.

3 – 6 Months: In this part of the chronogram, you´ll find yourself capable of playing more difficult songs; you will be able to apply techniques like hammer-ons and pull-offs. At this point, you already feel very comfortable playing guitar.

6 Months – 1 Year: when you get here you are going to practice songs that have more difficult riffs and arpeggios. The rhythm guitar of Iron Maiden and Metallica come to my head, that is because I love their Music, but they do have some great songs to use your new skills.

1 – 2 Years: When you get here, you realize that your fingers are very well trained and it becomes easier to learn a new song. Most guitarists use similar notes and that helps you to know half a song before you begin to learn it.

2 – 3 Years: It is the time when you start to learn new things; for example, if you haven’t yet, you can start learning the blues, or you could also start to learn how to play jazz. In my opinion, I would rather learn Jazz, because you do learn a lot about improvisation. Look up in Youtube for Tomo Fujita to get a better idea of how you could end up playing.

3 – 5 Years: To be learning for this long… you could probably play just about any style you want. You are going to find yourself needed by other musicians to be in their band as the lead guitar. After learning guitar for five years, more than likely you are going to have over three guitars; an acoustic, an electric and an electro-acoustic. At this point, sky is the limit.

After that, you’llyou will find out that there is still a lot to be learned. As I said before, playing guitar is a never ending process. Of course, you need to practice a lot, you will not be able to play guitar overnight. In my opinion to achieve a nice level of guitar playing it could take about half a year. Then, the world is your Oyster.
